Aeolus' harp was introduced into England

about the middle of the last century. It is much like the Aeolian harp, consisting of strings extended between the deal boards. Mr. Richardson, in his dissertation on the "Manners and Customs of the East," proves that such an instrument was used at a much earlier date than that claimed by Kircher for the invention.
