Alla moderna. (I.) In the modern style. The expression alla moderna is applied to any music composed in any style which has been adopted since the time of Handel, Corelli, and Germiniani. ALLA RUSSE. (I.) In the Russian style. An expression found at the beginning of compositions written in imitation of Russian music.
