Blanchard, E. J. A., a celebrated French musician, die 'at Versailles in 1770. He was chamber musician to the King of France, who granted him letters of nobility and the order of St. Michael. He composed some sacred music containing beauties of the first order, among which is a magnificent motet, called "Laudate Dominum."
