Des Moines Tribune/1934/Flyer Schneider, Miss Hahnen Wed
Flyer Schneider, Miss Hahnen Wed. Bride Is Daughter of Former City Resident. New York City, New York (Associated Press) Eddie A. Schneider, 22, an aviator, and Gretchen A. Hahnen, [sic] 33, New Jersey governor of the Women's International Aeronautics association, were married in the municipal chapel June 2, a search of the records Monday disclosed. In applying for the license, Schneider said he was a salesman. The bride gave her occupation as that of a clerk. She said she was a daughter of Mrs. Herman F. Hahnen, formerly of Des Moines, Iowa. Four years ago Schneider, then 18, clipped an hour and a half from the late Frank Goldsborough's Junior record of 28 hours and 18 minutes for a west-east transcontinental flight.
