BRADFORD, SIR THOMAS (1777–1853)
Son of Thomas Bradford: born Dec. 1, 1777: entered the Army, 1793: served in Ireland, Scotland, S. America, the Peninsula: commanded the Portuguese Division at Vittoria in 1813 as Maj-General: K.C.B., 1814: held commands in France and Scotland: was C. in C. in Bombay, 1825–9: G.C.B., 1838: General, 1841: died Nov. 28, 1853.
