New Copy of Verses: Or, A True Touch of the Times.

THE Farmers of England say,
they cannot pay their Rent,
The Statesmen Tax them so hard
and Money is still seant.
But now we are like to have a War,
Money will Circulate more,
If that we Conquer the Spaniards
Old England will flourish once more.
The haughty silly Spaniards,
In Vain once more will try,
Their fates with English Hero’s
Their Folly runs so high.
But Villians you're mistaken,
We soon will make you tall,
Keep fast your hold, brave Lyons bold
We’ll stand by one and all.
There horrid Depredations,
To Englands known full well,
Their Pyracies cannot be match'd
No if you ransick Hell.
Their bloody cruel Murder,
Aloud for Vengance cll's
Then never fret, but pay the Debt
With Fiery Bombs and Balls.
Now to humble the proud Spaniards,
British Courage must be shown,
Or the haughty Cowardly Villians
N er will know what is their own.
Their Guard a Coste's we'll make Rattle
Spain shall tremble at our Sight,
Hast brave Boys away to Battle,
Spain you know will never Fight.
Shall it be said in foreign Nations,
That the Spaniards dare controul
The Merchandize and Navigation
Of the generous British Soul.
God prosper long our Noble Monrach
Bless the British Parliament
Who to Right their fellow Subjects
To a War gave free Consent.
Heres a health to our brave Admiral
And his Seamen who did go
With undaunted Resolution
For to Fight old England’s Foe.
