English: This is the first constitution of Nigeria, which was adopted in 1922. As a British colony at the time, the constitution was adopted by an Order in Council, issued by King George, with the advice of His Privy Council. This document is also commonly referred to as the "Clifford Constitution," named after Sir Hugh Clifford, the first Governor of Nigeria.
