English: Text with image "A 400 lbs. 10 inch long flat-ended projectile, with (MV) a Maximum Velocity of 1364 feet per second, and (E) an Energy equal to 5562 foot tons, striking the periphery and flange of the Great Driving Wheel of a Locomotive Engine, the central line of its trajectory being at a tangent to the circle, so as to strip it at once; segments of it breaking the two after wheels to fragments, cutting off the ends of their axletrees, and discharging them all in rugged blocks beneath the officers' feet."
