Summary

Description
English: Sepulchral Monumental Stone from Hulme. 'Dr. Colley March writes with respect to it: "It is undoubtedly Mithraic. The Phrygian cap, the inverted torch, the weary posture, point to a setting sun, to the western solar phase. The caviform niche is worth notice. The sculpture is perhaps, only part of a larger scheme."' Illustration in wikisource:Roman Manchester (1900) by Charles Roeder.
