Verse 1

It's time that we were firm and lodged a strong complaint,
This sort of thing would try the temper of a saint.
We snatch a minute off, to ease the cruel strain.
And someone comes along, And makes us work again.

Refrain

Yes That's the way! It's always the same,
Ev'ry day, It's always the same.
Our little chats, we have to stop.
When we hear someone shouting "Shop!"
We're oppressed, it's simply not right,
Get no rest from morning till night.
It's abore, this serving in a store.
Don't think we can stand it much more.
