Dr Norman Penny, for many years librarian of the Society of Friends, has died at Bournemouth, aged 75. He was born at Darlington, and for many years worked for the Friends Home Mission Committee in Wensleydale, Gloucester and Melksham. In 1900 he became librarian of the society, and organised and built up the reference library, which is one of the most comprehensive possessed by any religious body.
