Source of the images[edit]
The djvu images are taken from "http://www.archive.org/stream/dictionarynatio43stepgoog", with the page numbers corresponding, so that for example "http://www.archive.org/stream/dictionarynatio43stepgoog#page/n298/mode/1up" matches Page:Dictionary_of_National_Biography_volume_01.djvu/298, etc. Though the original images are the same, for about half the pages (mainly, but not exclusively, the odd page numbers) a great deal of the image quality has been lost when importing into Wikisource (or wherever they are). For this reason when it comes to proofreading a great deal can sometimes be gained by ignoring the side-by-side images, and going to the source pages in "www.archive.org". Jan1naD (talk • contrib)
