The dates of birth and death for Captain Thomas Weaver (mining engineer) are given as 1773 and 1855 respectively. In 1787 Weaver was Mines Captain in Avoca, Co. Wicklow and appointed to oversee gold mining operations nearby two years earlier. According to the date of birth given, Weaver would have been fourteen years of age when Mines Captain and twelve when overseeing the gold mining operations. Any revision of the dates would be greatly appreciated.
