The author of this book explained on page 54 of this book that he devised a "new system" for the spelling of Navaho words specifically for this book. So.... for example: The symbol over the letter "i". The author put a symbol such as ǐ or ĭ but looking at Navaho alphabet, I can't find this exists in the Navaho alphabet. see https://leanpub.com/nwotdbook --The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 12:15, 12 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
