Pembroke since April, 1880, recorder of Andover 1857-72, revising barrister for Breconshire, retired 1880, M.A., Christ Church, Oxon, 1841, from Rugby, a student of Lincoln's Inn 19 May, 1837 (then aged 21), called to the bar 6 May, 1841, Q.C. 24 March, 1880, a bencher 2 Nov., 1881 (2nd son of late John Hensleigh Allen, M.P., of Cresselly, co. Pembroke); born 29 July, 1816.
