Ayrton, William Scrope, J.P. Yorkshire North Riding, a commissioner of Court of Bankruptcy (Leeds district) 184‒—69, deputy registrar London court of bankruptcy 183‒–4‒, late capt. West Riding Yorkshire volunteers, joint author of Montagu and Ayrton's Reports in Bankruptcy, and of Law and Practice in Bankruptcy, author of A Treatise on Bonds in Bankruptcy, a student of the Middle Temple 20 Nov., 1824, called to the bar 26 Nov., 1830 (only son of William Ayrton, Esq., of Westminster); born 28 March, 1804; married 20 March, 1847, Margaret, dau. of Thomas Massa Alsager, Esq., of London, and has issue.
