Bell, John, M.A., Caius Coll., Camb., 1835, clerk of the peace since 1838, and formerly commissioner of bankrupts Westmorland, also assistant enclosure commissioner and auditor of a district of unions, lieut. Westmorland militia, author of Treatise on the Game Laws, a student of Lincoln's Inn 25 April, 1832 (then aged 30), called to the bar 16 June, 1835 (eldest son of James Bell, Esq., of Ormside Lodge, Westmorland); born , 1801.
