Berry, Robert, M.A. (late fellow), Trin. Coll., Camb., 1851, hon. LL.D. Edinburgh Univ., professor of law in Glasgow Univ. since 1867, a member of the Faculty of Advocates, secretary to commissioners under the Universities (Scotland) Act 1858-63 and to royal commission of inquiry into Scotch universities 1876-8, a student of the Inner Temple 14 Jan., 1847 (then aged 21), called to the bar 6 June, 1853 (2nd son of late William Berry, Esq., of Tayfield, co. Fife); born 18 Nov., 1825; married 17 Aug., 1864, Mary, dau. of late John Miller, Esq., of Stewartfield, co. Roxburgh (and grand-dau. of late Sir William Miller, Bart., of Glenlee, Lord Glenlee, of the Court of Session), and has issue (see Foster's Baronetage).
