Brandreth, Arthur, judge of the chief court of the Punjab, retired 1882, entered Indian civil service 1851, a student of the Inner Temple 23 Jan., 1860 (then aged 27), gold medallist, called to the bar 6 June, 1868 (2nd son of Thomas Shaw Brandreth, Esq., bar.-at-law, of the Inner Temple); born , 1833; married 5 Aug., 1868, Mary Charlotte, 2nd dau. of late William Urquhart Arbuthnot, Esq., of Bridgen Place, Kent (see Foster's Baronetage).
