Browne, Jemmett, B.A. Corpus Christi Coll., Oxon, private secretary to permanent secretary to Board of Trade (Mr. Farrer) since 1868, a student of Lincoln's Inn 18 April, 1859 (then aged 26), called to the bar 30 April, 1867 (eldest son of Rev. John Browne, of Riverstown, co. Cork, dec.); born 6 Dec., 1832; married 1st, 10 Aug., 1864, Frances Mary, dau. of Henry Mills Custance, Esq.; she died 15 March, 1875; he married 2ndly, 19 June, 1877, his cousin, Frances Caroline, eldest dau. of Major Stephenson, rifle brigade, and has issue.
