Butler, George Grey, F.R.G.S., F.G.S., M.A., Trin. Coll., Camb., 1879, scholar 1873, twenty-eighth wrangler, permanent assistant examiner of the civil service commission since 1876 (senior 1882), a student of Gray's Inn 24 Jan., 1880, went to the Inner Temple 4 Nov., 1880 (then aged 28), where he was called to the bar 17 Nov., 1883 (eldest son of Very Rev. George Butler, D.D., late dean of Peterborough, dec.); born 15 Nov., 1852.
