Univ. since 1873, chancellor's medallist, senior classic, seventh senior optime 1858, examiner in civil law 1868–9 and since 1873, examiner in jurisprudence and principles of legislation London Univ. 1875–80 and since 1884, author of Analysis of Criminal Liability, of Early Roman law, etc., a student of Lincoln's Inn 23 Sept., 1858 (then aged 22), called to the bar 11 June, 1862 (only son of Edwin Clark, late of Ellinthorpe, Boroughbridge, Yorkshire, gentleman, dec.); born , 1836; married 17 June, 1865, Mary, dau. of James Kitson, Esq., of Elmete Hall, near Leeds.
