Clerk, John Frederic, B.A. Univ. Coll., Oxon, a member of the South-eastern circuit, a student of the Inner Temple 13 Jan., 1872 (then aged 23), called to the bar 17 Nov., 1874 (2nd son of John Clerk, Q.C., a master of the bench of the Inner Temple); born May, 1848; married 16 Dec., 1884, Eleanor Sophia, elder dau. and co-heir of late Gustavus Thomas Smith, Esq., of Goldicote House, co. Warwick (see Foster's Baronetage).
