Clifford, Charles Cavendish, D.C.L., F.R.G.S., M.P. Isle of Wight 1857–65, Newport, Isle of Wight, since 1870, B.A., Christ Church, Oxon, 1842, B.C.L. (fellow) of All Souls' 1846, private secretary to Viscount Palmerston 1850–7, a student of the Inner Temple 18 Jan., 1842 (then aged 21), called to the bar 20 Nov., 1846 (3rd son of Sir Augustus Clifford, Bart., R.N.); born 7 Jan., 1821 (see Foster's Baronetage).
