Dasent, John Roche, M.A. Christ Church, Oxon, B.A. 1869, from Westminster School, private secretary to Earl Spencer (lord lieutenant of Ireland 1885, etc.), sometime examiner in the education department of the privy council, a student of the Middle Temple 10 Nov., 1882, called to the bar 17 June, 1885 (eldest son of Sir George Webbe Dasent, of Tower Hill, Berks, one of H.M.'s civil service commissioners); born 24 Jan., 1847; married 27 July, 1878, Ellen, younger dau. and co-heir of late Admiral Sir Henry John Codrington, K.C.B., and has 2 sons (see Foster's Baronetage).
