Deane, Henry Bargrave Finneley, M.A. Balliol Coll., Oxon (international law prize essayist Oxford 1870), from Winchester Coll., capt. 2nd Middlesex (Finsbury rifles) volunteers since 1872, official principal of the archdeaconries of Rochester and St. Albans since 1876, secretary of the royal commission on Wellington Coll. 1879-80, author of A Treatise on the Law of Blockade, a member of the South-eastern circuit, a student of the Inner Temple 15 Jan., 1866, called to the bar 17 Nov., 1870 (only surviving son of James Parker Deane, Esq., Q.C, of the Inner Temple); born 28 April, 1846; married 9 June, 1875, Edith Mary, elder dau. of John Lindsay Scott, Esq., of Mollance, co. Kirkcudbright, and of London.
