Deane, James Parker, Q.C, D.C.L. 1839, fellow St. John's Coll., Oxon, from Winchester Coll., admiralty advocate, vicar-general of the province of Canterbury, chancellor of the diocese of Salisbury, counsel to the Foreign Office since 1872, author of Act for Amendment of Laws with respect to Wills, etc., a student of the Inner Temple 8 Nov., 1837 (then aged 25), called to the bar 29 Jan., 1841, an advocate of Doctors' Commons 2 Nov., 1839, treasurer 1854-6, Q.C. 16 Jan., 1858, bencher of the Inner Temple 30 April, 1858, treasurer 1873 (younger son of Henry Boyle Deane, Esq., of Hurst Grove, Berks); born 25 June, 1812; married and has issue.
