Dent, John Dent, M.A., Trin. Coll., Camb., 1851, from Eton, chairman of Northeastern Railway Company since 1880, M.P. Knaresborough 1852-7, Scarborough 1857-74, late capt. Yorkshire hussars, J.P., D.L. Yorks West Riding, a student of Lincoln's Inn 19 April, 1844 (then aged 17), called to the bar 14 Nov., 1851 (son of Joseph Dent, of Ribston Park, Yorks, J.P., D.L.); born 11 June, 1826; married 10 July, 1855, Mary Hebden, dau. of John Woodall, Esq., of Scarborough, and has issue.
