Chelsea since 1868, author of Greater Britain, proprietor of The Athenæum, Notes and Queries, etc., a student of the Middle Temple 19 Dec., 1862, called to the bar 30 April, 1866 (eldest son of Sir Charles Wentworth Dilke, Bart.); born 4 Sept., 1843; married 30 Jan., 1872, Katherine, only dau. of late Capt. Arthur Gore Sheil; she died 20 Sept., 1874.
