Drinkwater, Sir William Leece, judge of the High Court of Judicature Isle of Man, first Deemster Isle of Man and member of council since 1855, 2nd Deemster 1847–55, M.A., St. John's Coll., Camb., 1837, knighted 20 March, 1877, author of Reports of Cases Argued and Determined in Court of Common Pleas 1840–1, a student of the Inner Temple 16 April, 1834 (then aged 22), called to the bar 9 June, 1837 (2nd son of John Drinkwater, of Liverpool, merchant); born 28 March, 1812; married 27 Aug., 1840, Elinor, sister of late Sir James Bourne, Bart., of Hackinsall, co. Lancaster, and has issue (see Foster's Baronetage).
