Dundas, Hon. John Charles, M.P., B.A., Trin. Coll., Camb., 1868, M.P. Richmond, Yorks, since 1873, lord lieutenant Orkney and Zetland since 1872, J.P., D.L. Yorkshire North Riding, chairman quarter sessions since 1881, educated at Harrow, had a warrant of precedency to rank as the son of an earl 1873, a student of Lincoln's Inn 23 Nov., 1866 (then aged 21), called to the bar 7 June, 1869 (2nd son of Hon. John Charles Dundas, late of Woodhall, Yorks, M.P., dec.); born 21 Sept., 1845; married 2 Aug., 1870, Hon. Alice Louisa Wood, dau. of Charles, 1st Viscount Halifax, and has issue (see Foster's Peerage, E. Zetland).
