Furnivall, Frederick James, M.A., Trin. Hall, Camb., 1850, matric. London Univ. 1842, founder of the Early English Text, Chaucer, Wycliff, and New Shakespeare Societies, co-founder of Browning Society, hon. secretary Philological Society and formerly editor of its dictionary, formerly capt. 9th Middlesex volunteers, a student of Lincoln's Inn 26 Jan., 1846 (aged 20), went to Gray's Inn 20 and called to the bar there 30 Jan., 1849 (eldest son of George Frederick Furnivall, Esq., of Egham, Surrey, surgeon); born 4 Feb., 1825.
