Grundy, Sydney, dramatic author, author of Mammon, The Snowball, The Vicar of Bray (operetta), etc., matric. London Univ. 1866 from Owens' Coll., Manchester, went the Northern circuit 1870–5, a student of the Middle Temple 31 Oct., 1866, called to the bar 17 Nov., 1869 (only son of Charles Sydney Grundy, of Manchester, merchant); born 23 March, 1848.
