Hewlett, Richard, a member of Civil Service Commission since 31 March, 1862, undergrad. Corpus Christi Coll., Camb., from King's Coll., London, editor of some volumes in series of Chronicles and Memorials of Great Britain, published under the direction of the master of the rolls, a student of the Middle Temple 10 Aug., 1863, called to the bar 6 June, 1871 (2nd son of Samuel Burt Howlett, chief draftsman in the War Office, London); born 17 Aug., 1841; married 5 Oct., 1871, Alice, 3rd dau. of late James Holderness Featherstone, Esq., of Reading.
