Hope, Theodore Cracroft, C.S.I. 1877, C.I.E. 1882, public works member of the council of governor-general of India since 1882, educated at Rugby and at Haileybury, entered Bombay civil service 1853, a member of legislative council of governor-general of India 1875-80, etc., a student of Lincoln's Inn 18 Nov., 1863 (then aged 31), called to the bar 6 June, 1866 (only son of James Hope, of London, physician); born , 1832; married 16 Aug., 1866, Josephine Mary McGildowny, only dau. of J. W. Fulton, Esq., of Bradeigle House, Lisburn, co. Antrim.
