Huddleston, Sir John Walter, Knt. (13 May, 1875), a justice of the High Court of Justice, Queen's Bench Division since 1879, of the Exchequer Division Nov. 1875-9, a judge of Court of Common Pleas Feb. to May, 1875, a baron of the exchequer May to Nov., 1875, counsel to admiralty and navy and judge advocate of the fleet 1865-75, M.P. Canterbury 1865-8, Norwich 1874-5, a member of council of legal education since 1862, matric. Trin. Coll., Dublin, a student of Gray's Inn 18 April, 1836, called to the bar 7 May, 1839, Q.C. 1857, bencher 22 July, 1857, twice treasurer 1859-60, serjeant-at-law 15 April, 1875 (eldest son of Thomas Huddleston, Esq., late of Dublin, dec.); born 8 Sept., 1817; mar. 18 Dec., 1872, Lady Diana de Vere Beauclerc, dau. of William, 9th duke of St. Albans (see Foster's Peerage).
