Hyde, Edgar, M.A. (late fellow), Corpus Christi Coll., Oxon, 1st class mathematics, 3rd class classics 1854, and junior univ. mathematical scholar, from St. Paul's School London, practised before the High Court of Calcutta 1862–71, Inner Temple tutor in jurisprudence, civil and international law 1875–8 a member of the South-eastern circuit, edited Indian Law Reports, 2 vols., author of A Treatise on Indian Succession, a student of the Inner Temple 3 Nov., 1859 (then aged 30), called to the bar 11 June, 1862 (youngest son of Rev Henry Woodcock Hyde, of Camberwell, Surrey); born 27 May, 1829; married 29 Aug. 1868, Margaret, youngest dau. of late Peter Armstrong, Esq.
