Coll., Dublin, 1844, a member of the Western circuit, junior Crown prosecutor Tyrone 1859-64, recorder of Rangoon and Moulmein 1865-6, assistant secretary to Bengal Government legislative department 1866-71, standing counsel to Government of Fort William, Bengal, 1871-8, officiating judge High Court Calcutta 1877-8, additional member Legislative Council governor-general of India 1880-1, called to the bar at King's Inns, Dublin, Trin., 1845, admitted to the bar 'of High Court of Calcutta 6 Dec. 1864, a student of the Inner Temple 17 Jan., 1844 (then aged 21), called to the bar there 7 June, 1875 (only son of late Thomas Kennedy, of Londonderry, solicitor); born 7 May, 1823; married 6 March, 1856, Margaret, youngest dau. of Rev. Charles Moore, of Monastereven.
