Longe, Francis Davy, B.A. Oriel Coll., Oxon, Local Government Board inspector since 1871 private secretary to president of Poor Law, Board (Mr. Goschen) 1868–70, a student of the Inner Temple 16 April, 1855 (then aged 23), called to the bar 30 April, 1858 (2nd son of late Rev. Robert Longe, vicar of Cuddenham, Suffolk); born 25 Sept., 1831; married 27 Sept., 1864, Sarah Rose, dau. of Rev. Thomas Patteson, rector of Hambledon, Hants, s.p. (see Foster's Our Noble and Gentle Families).
