Manisty, Sir Henry, Knt. (28 Nov., 1876), a justice of the High Court of Justice Queen's Bench Division, since 1876, educated at Durham Grammar School, practised as a solicitor 1830–42, a student of Gray's Inn 20 April, 1842, called to the bar 23 April, 1845 Q.C., 7 July, 1857, bencher 22 July, 1857, treasurer 1861 (2nd son of Rev. James Manisty late of Edlingham, Northumberland); born 15 Dec., 1808; married 1st, Aug., 1831, Constantia, dau. of Patrick Dickson, Esq., of Berwick-on-Tweed; she died 9 Aug., 1836; he married 2ndly, May, 1838, Mary Ann, dau. of Robert Stevenson, Esq., of Berwick-on-Tweed.
