Mears, Thomas Lambert, M.A., LL.D. London Univ. 1870 and a member of Convocation, associate of King's Coll., London, lieut.-col. late commanding 5th Middlesex rifle volunteers, author of Institutes of Gaius and Justinian, with Translation, and Analysis of Ortolan's Roman Law, a member of the South-eastern circuit, a student of the Inner Temple 1 Nov., 1865 (then aged 26), called to the bar 17 Nov., 1868 (2nd son of Charies Thompson Mears, of New York, U.S.A., formerly of London, dec.); born , 1839; married 7 Aug., 1875, Alice Catherine, eldest dau. of John Henry Westcar Peel, Esq., and has issue (see Foster's Baronetage).
