Middleton, James William, B.A. (Taylorian exhibitioner in Italian), Queen's Coll., Oxon, 1872, from Eton (Prince Consort's prizeman in German and Italian 1866), author of Settled Estates Statutes, 3rd edn., 1882, joint author of The Law and Practice of Compensation, a student of Lincoln's Inn 11 Jan., 1873 (then aged 23), called to the bar 28 June, 1876 (only son of James Middleton, late principal of Agra Coll., India); born 13 Sept., 1849; married 12 May, 1883, Jane Granard, youngest dau. of Raynham William Stewart, Esq.
