Neale, William Johnstoun Nelson, recorder of Walsall since 1859, a member of the Oxford circuit, entered the royal navy 1824, naval medal for Navarino 1827, author of Cavendish, The Port Admiral, Will Watch, Gentleman Jack, The Pride of the Mess, The Flying Dutchman, History of the Mutiny in the Nore, and A Treatise on the Law of Elections, a student of Lincoln's Inn 17 Jan., 1833 (then aged 20), went to the Middle Temple 4, where he was called to the bar 25 Nov., 1836 (2nd son of Adam Neale, of Exeter, M.D., dec.); born , 1812; married 12 Dec., 1846, Frances Herbert Nisbet (eldest grandchild and co-heir of Viscountess Nelson and Duchess of Bronte), dau. of Capt. Josiah Nisbet, R.N.
