Pemberton, Edward Leigh, M.P. East Kent since 1868, major royal East Kent mounted rifles 1863–77, J.P. Kent, B.A., St. John's Coll., Oxon, 1845, from Eton, a student of Lincoln's Inn 14 Nov., 1840 (then aged 17), called to the bar 8 June, 1847 (eldest son of Edward Leigh Pemberton, of London, solicitor); born 14 May, 1823; married 4 Aug., 1849, Matilda Catherine, eldest dau. of late Rev. and Hon. Francis James Noel (see Foster's Peerage, E. Gainsborough).
