Scott, Montagu David, M.P. East Sussex since 1874, M.A., Univ. Coll., Oxon, 1864, J.P., D.L. Sussex, J.P. Middlesex and Westminster, a student of Lincoln's Inn 27 Oct., 1834 (then aged 17), went to the Middle Temple 18 Jan., 1840, where he was called to the bar 24 May, 1840 (2nd son of Sir David Scott, M.P., of Brighton, Bart.); born 15 March, 1818; married 10 Feb., 1848, Margaret, only dau. of late James Briggs, Esq., of Oaklands, Herts; she died 4 Sept., 1884, having had an only dau. (see Foster's Baronetage).
