Shafto, Charles Duncombe, B.A. (classical tripos), Jesus Coll., Camb., 1877, a member of the North-eastern circuit, a student of the Inner Temple 9 June, 1875 (then aged 22), called to the bar 18 Nov., 1878 (sole surviving son of Rev. Arthur Duncombe Shafto, rector of Brancepeth, co. Durham); born 12 Feb., 1853; married 4. July, 1877, his cousin, Helena Rosa, youngest dau. and co-heir of Rev. George Pearson Wilkinson, M.A., of Harperley Park, co. Durham, bar.-at-law.
