Simon, John, serjeant-at-law, M.P. Dewsbury since 1868, LL.B., Univ. Coll., London, 1841, and a member of Convocation, also a member of the Northern circuit, of the Incorporated Council of Law Reporting, and of the council of the Society for Codification of International Law, a student of the Middle Temple 29 Oct., 1839, called to the bar 4 Nov., 1842, serjeant-at-law 15 April, 1864, patent of precedence Jan., 1868 (only son of Isaac Simon, of Montego Bay, Jamaica, merchant); born 9 Dec., 1818; married 12 June, 1843, Rachel, 5th dau. of Simeon K. Salaman, Esq., of London, and has issue.
