Simpson, Alfred Walker, recorder of Scarborough since 1872, M.A., Jesus Coll., Camb., 1849, B.A. (fellow, 1st class classics, twenty-sixth wrangler) 1846, J.P. Yorkshire North Riding, a member of the North-eastern circuit, a student of Lincoln's Inn 20 April, 1846 (then aged 23), went to the Inner Temple 12 Aug., 1847, where he was called to the bar 16 Nov., 1849, bencher of the Inner Temple 28 Jan., 1881 (2nd son of Alfred Simpson, of New Malton, Yorks, attorney-at-law); born 6 April, 1823; unmarried.
