Stevens, Henry, B.A., Trin. Coll., Camb., 1872, a member of the Oxford circuit, assistant general inspector to Local Government Board since 1878, a student of the Inner Temple 9 May, 1870 (then aged 22), called to the bar 17 Nov., 1873 (eldest son of Rev. Thomas Stevens, rector of Newton-by-Toft, co. Linc., and of Bradfield, Berks, 1843-81); born 4 July, 1847; married 22 Oct, 1878, Ellen Mary Powell, eldest dau. of Francis Halhed, Esq., of Harbledown, Canterbury, late H.E.I.C.S.
