Straight, (Hon.) Douglas, puisne judge of the supreme court of North-west Provinces of India since 1879, M.P. Shrewsbury 1870-4, royal commissioner of inquiry into corrupt practices at Boston 1874, sometime junior counsel to the London Bankers' Association and junior counsel for the treasury at the Central Criminal Court, educated at Harrow, a student of the Middle Temple 30 May, 1862, called to the bar 17 Nov., 1865 (only son of late Robert Marshall Straight, of the Middle Temple, bar.-at-law); born 22 Oct., 1844; married 24 April, 1867, Jane Alice, 5th dau. of William Bridgman, Esq., D.C.L.
